In December 2025, the ultra-low emission retrofit project for cement kiln flue gas, contracted by HCRDI, successfully passed final acceptance. This milestone marks a major breakthrough in the deep treatment of flue gas from carbide slag cement kilns.

Tailored to the specific characteristics of flue gas from carbide slag cement kilns and drawing on HCRDI’s extensive experience in flue gas purification across the steel, waste-to-energy, cement, and chemical industries, HCRDI independently developed the eSCR deep denitrification and ammonia removal technology. The system integrates multiple advanced subsystems, including heat exchange and heating systems, an SCR reactor, ash removal system, ammonia evaporation system, nitrogen enrichment system, compressed air system, and the CatAdapt-eSCR intelligent control system, ensuring high denitrification efficiency and stable long-term operation.

The project was engineered in close alignment with actual operating conditions and site constraints. By dismantling the original booster fan and utilizing vacant space adjacent to the refining system to install the new eSCR unit, the project achieved a compact layout, optimized duct routing, and efficient land use while streamlining the overall process. With strong support and close cooperation from the project owner, the project team completed construction within four months. Since commissioning, control system data and third-party monitoring reports have shown that key emission indicators, including nitrogen oxides, significantly outperform contractual requirements.

Following full operation, the project will substantially improve local ambient air quality and serve as a strong demonstration for deep emission control and green transformation in the regional and Anhui provincial cement industry. It provides a replicable technical pathway and valuable engineering experience for the sector, making a positive contribution to the green transition and environmental advancement of China’s cement industry.
